Enabling Offline payment will allow you to accept swiped card payments on those occasions you lose connection to the internet. Offline payments are processed automatically when your device regains connectivity.
NOTE: This is not yet available for Elavon or Poynt Processing merchants.
To enable offline processing mode, go to https://poynt.net/business/stores (or https://poynt.net/settings/store/payment in the new Poynt HQ).
You can set thresholds for per transaction and total amount depending on the volume you process. Once you accept the terms & conditions and save the changes, you will be able to accept payments if your device loses connectivity.
NOTE: This setting must be enabled prior to going offline; otherwise transactions processed offline will not be recorded.

Keep in mind that during the time you are offline, you are responsible for any expired, declined or disputed payments. Before swiping a card offline, we recommend you verify the name of the cardholder as well as the expiration date to ensure it’s a valid card. You’ll also want to be sure to obtain a signature for every swiped transaction and verify the signature on the screen matches the signature on the back of the payment card.
