Merchants can now control the functions available to their terminal users by assigning them various roles. Default roles include Owner, Manager, Employee. You can also create new roles, and assign certain permissions to them. Permissions are broken out into a few categories:
- Poynt App Access: which native apps a user can view/use when logged in on the terminal
- Business Settings: manage users on device and web, as well as the ability to update store and business settings
- Transactions: manage which transactions a user can process on the terminal
- Sales, Reporting & Settlement: manage which reports and settlements actions a user has access to on the device
Owners, by default, will have access to all the functions. You can customize the Manager and Employee roles depending on what they will be doing in your store.
To add a new role or to customize the permissions for each role, go to users tab in Poynt HQ and click on device users. Click on Roles and permissions on the top right hand corner.
Update the permissions based on the existing role, or create a new role by clicking on Add custom role tab.
