How do I run a test card transaction?

We recommend that resellers run a test transaction prior to sending the Poynt Smart Terminal to merchants. Testing a transaction is easy - please follow the instructions below:

Card Transaction 

1. Go to Terminal app
   
2. Enter the charge and then hit the "Charge" button
3. Swipe/insert test card
4. Enter tip or no tip if Tip-Enabled
5. Sign to test signature capture if applicable
6. Tap “Print Receipt” on customer facing screen:

NOTE: Review to ensure printer is working, and business information on the receipt is displayed clearly and correctly

NFC Transaction

1. Hold the NFC card or device up to the customer facing screen, and ensure the transaction is successful
2. Enter tip or no tip if Tip-Enabled
3. Sign to test signature capture
4. Tap “Email Receipt” on customer facing screen and enter your email, to test the email receipt functionality
