The Poynt Smart Terminal comes with a built-in printer to allow for printing of receipts and settlement reports. Because it is a thermal printer and doesn't require ink, the only maintenance that's required is purchasing new paper rolls.
If you're having trouble printing, please try the following:
Step 1: Confirm Print Order Receipt is enabled on the device.
Step 2: Make sure your paper roll is inserted properly (see image below).
Step 3: Check that your paper roll is wound tightly and not crumpled in the printer chamber (Tip: tear off any wrinkled portions as this may cause jamming.)
Step 4: Pull a small length of paper through the slot to ensure it feeds out of the slot
Step 5: Make sure the printer door is properly shut
Step 6: Confirm battery level as the printer has an auto-disable function if the battery is too low. You can also fix this by simply re-docking the terminal.
Step 7: If the receipts or reports that you're printing seem faint, try to return the terminal to its dock. The battery settings impact the printer so that it is more efficient when you're running low. When the printer is returned to its dock, the printed information should display vividly.
If you are still unable to print, report any error messages displayed and/or additional diagnostic information to our team at support@poynt.com.
