FreshKDS & Poynt

We have integrated with Fresh KDS to help your kitchen and order taking be more efficient and streamlined.  You will need to download the Fresh KDS app on your compatible table, and the Fresh KDS Display link app on the Poynt terminal.  Once the apps are downloaded and tested, you are good to go.

Get Started

Create a Fresh KDS account on the Fresh KDS site; select your pricing plan and choose Poynt as your POS.  Launch the Fresh KDS app on your tablet and log in with your credentials.

Launch the Fresh KDS Display Link app from on the Poynt terminal.  This will connect the Poynt terminal and your Fresh KDS app.  Orders processed on the Poynt terminal will show up in the Fresh KDS app in your kitchen once the transaction is completed.

NOTE:  Make sure both devices (tablet and Poynt device) are on the same WIFI network.

Connect Poynt terminal and Fresh KDS

In the Fresh KDS display link on the Poynt device, tap Scan to find the table that the KDS app has been downloaded to..

Once the device name shows up, click on it to pair with your Poynt terminal.

Paired screens will appear under the Connected Displays section.  In order to confirm pairing was successful, click on Test Connection.

You should see a test order show up in the Fresh KDS app on the tablet.

In the Fresh KDS Display Link app on the Poynt terminal, confirm that the test order appeared on the tablet.

Now you're good to go!  You can start taking orders on your Poynt terminal and they will flow through to your tablet into the Fresh KDS app in the kitchen.

Things to note:

• if you're have problems pairing the device, make sure both are on the same WiFi/internet connection; connecting via hotspot will not work
• currently the only option for orders is For Here; you can update the settings in the Fresh KDS app to remove the header so this doesn't get confusing for your team
• you can add a note to the order in Poynt Register app to denote if the order is for here, to go, delivery or pickup
